The Reverend Dr. Bradley L. DeHaven - Senior Pastor Email address: bdehaven@umcswtx.org Read Pastor Brad's blog: anotefrombrad.blogspot.com
Clint's favorite past time outside the church is working as a volunteer at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, especially for the San Antonio Symphony series. In addition to his responsibilities as Associate Pastor, both he and Jeanette are voracious readers are strong supporters of the Duke Blue Devil basketball program and the San Antonio Spurs. Clint especially is an avid tennis fan Clint describes himself as an unreconstructed Tar Heel with his feet firmly planted in Texas.
Amy McClung - Intern Associate Pastor Amy McClung graduated from Marble Falls High School in 2003 and earned a Bachelor's in Religious Studies from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. From there she enrolled in Perkins School of Theology and has completed three years of course work. She is working towards her Masters in Divinity. Amy looks forward to spending July 2010-11 at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church. On her days off she enjoys exploring the area. Her parents, Mike and Kim McClung live in Marble Falls and visit Canyon Lake whenever possible. Her older sister, Melanie, works as a civilian for the Navy in Indiana and her younger sister, Kristina, works for Walt Disney World every opportunity she gets. Stop by and visit Amy. She's young and ready to serve where ever God leads her. CLUMC Welcomes Amy McClung!
Sharla began her life at Canyon Lake UMC when her family joined the church in June of 1997. In June of 2000 she began assisting as part time Finance Secretary to the Treasurer. Seven short months later, she took on the additional role as Children’s Program Director, where her two children, Chris and Kaci were active in several church programs. Serving on the Council of Children's Ministries with the Southwest Texas Conference four years, she brought valuable information from other Methodists churches back to the local church for program growth and revitalization of the children’s programs. In June 2005, she substituted the role of Children’s Program Director for Office Administrator, until January 2007, when she reverted back to her original part time position of Finance Secretary. To say her tenure at Canyon Lake UMC has gone full circle would not be the full story. The full story is that she has had the flexibility with her various positions within the church to fulfill her number one priority – her job of being the mother to the two best kids in the world.
Sandy McLeod - Wesley Nurse sandra.mcleod@mhm.org Sandy Mcleod the Wesley Nurse: Born in 1940, my dad was in “THE WAR” and severely injured, spending at lot of time recovering at Brooke Army Medical Center. As a small child we traveled on the train from Ardmore OK., to San Antonio, TX to see my dad. At the age of 3, I marched around my grandmother’s house proclaiming that when I grew up I was going to be an Army Nurse. Needless to say I fulfilled that proclamation by spending 20 years and 24 days in the Army. I took too much time in becoming a Wesley Nurse, around forty years. But I did not spend all this time in the wilderness. The variety of sick and injured patients I cared for added to my experience. So I hope with all my heart that the experiences of my past will aid me in serving this congregation and community. If you need assistance navigating around the health care system, or have some health care questions or concerns, please come in and see me. I am located at the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church M-TH 8-4, and Friday 8-1200 noon. Call the Church and ask for the Wesley Nurse. I’ll be there for you.
Immediately after graduation, she went to work as a Medicare Compliance Analyst at a home health agency in Austin. She then moved back to San Marcos to take on the job of Marketing Manager at McCoy’s Building Supply. She worked there for seven years until her first child, Larissa, was born in June of 2004. At that time, she and her husband decided that being a full-time mom was the best thing for their family. She stayed home with Larissa until after her first birthday. At that time, Lori became the children’s director. In May of 2006, her family became complete when Nathan was born. Lori has been married to her wonderful husband since 2003. Together, they enjoy traveling, boating on Canyon Lake and spending time with other young families. Lori considers herself to be truly blessed by the Lord to have such a wonderful family and to be associated with a church as personally fulfilling as Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.
