Hope Circle and Love Circle

The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose purpose is:

- To know God,
- To experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ,
- To develop a creative, supportive fellowship and,
- To expand conception of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

HOPE Circle 'sisters' gather most months in Church Welcome Center upstairs the 2nd Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (No July meeting, Aug. is Dine Out and Dec. is North Pole Village). Social time and light refreshments are enjoyed before the Program starts at 7:00 p.m. Evening gatherings allow working ladies and young mother's to join us. If you need a ride to a HOPE gathering, or child care please call Carol Bisset, 830-534-891 Tuesday before meeting. Come if any of the following things or events interest you, better yet, bring your ideas to a HOPE or LOVE Gathering.

  • Lively Fellowship

  • Interesting Programs

  • Church Work Days

  • Lots of Cooking

The LOVE Circle usually meets each month on the 3rd Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Room # 4 up stairs. After the Program several women eat lunch together at a local cafe. LOVE is the original women's group of CLUMC which was established close to the time the church was founded in 1980. Many of LOVE Programs are based on the United Methodist Women's Studies which look at current events focusing on, mission, geographical and spiritual topics. The UMW Reading Program is encouraged throughout the year as well.

We Hope to see you at HOPE... and...We'd Love to see you at LOVE! You might be the answer to someone's prayer or someone might be an answer to your prayer. There's a chair waiting for you...and... there is a friend waiting to meet you! Come!

CLUMC 2016 Woman of the Year

This past August at our Annual "Dine Out" Lily Montross was honored with a special recognition pin for her years of dedicated service at CLUMC. At 90 years young, she attends not just one Sunday service but both! As a faithful greeter, her smile and English accent is enjoyed at many church events. Lily is often a liturgist in the pulpit, attends meetings as our CLUMC Sr. Representative, folds weekly bulletins, calls visitors and those in the hospital, the sick, home bound and... gives inspiring programs. Thank you Lily for all you do for so many!

Care Bear Ministry

Our little Care Bears are tenderly "dressed" with love by the UM Women with left over bows, buttons, lace, quilts etc. and are meant to lift your spirits in times of difficulty. If you or someone have lost a loved one, or if you or your neighbor is sick or recovering from surgery, maybe you or a friend just need encouragement, please let the office know. CLUMC and Care Bears want you to know We Care!

Recent UMW Retreats

Each spring a two day Women's Retreat sponsored by Hope Circle for ALL women of the church and the community is held at a near by retreat center. Our time together offers spiritual renewal lead by a guest women pastor, as well as recreation and the joy of making new friends.

Painted Church Excursion
Our church bus allows us to do many field trips during the year.
One was our day outing to the Flatonia/La Grange area to see several 100-150 year old hand painted churches.

The Altar Guild
Offers an opportunity within our church (through the Worship Committee) to serve our Lord by preparing the elements and readying the altar for communion the first Sunday of each month as well as changing the chancel paraments to coincide with the liturgical seasons. To participate or obtain more information please call the church office – we are eager to have you with us.
