Friends Fellowship
was originally a singles group, but those who may be ‘single’ for a
particular reason, even ‘golf widows,’ but nevertheless Christian,
and have an interest in our activities and adventures, are invited
and welcomed. Recently we extended our group to include all men and
women, seeking Christian friends with like interests, to join us.
Friends
does not have regular meetings or agendas to follow which makes it
easy for anyone to “fit in.” We welcome Winter Texans. Our group
regularly has a Second Sunday Luncheon after the 10:30 service,
which may be pot luck or eating out at one of the local restaurants.
Call the office or check the web-site for current plans.
This past year
Friends have enjoyed field trips in our church van to: Lost
Maples, The Painted Churches, S.A. Mission Trail, Lady Bird’s
Wildflower Center, and The Institute. Of Texan Cultures, with a walk
down the S.A. River. Plans are being discussed for a series of
studies to follow along with our Methodist beliefs. Again check with
the office.
Friends
welcomes anyone who has a willing Christian spirit. You will find
our group is easy going and anxious to share your joys and ideas as
well as encourage you though difficult moments. We look forward to
your participation in CLUMC Friends Fellowship.
God
Bless, Rev. Elaine Smith (Ret.), Chairperson
